I've lived in Redcliffe for the last 18 years but originally I am from Williamstown, Melbourne. My vocation has been a signwriter however recently I decided to go back to Uni and I have almost completed my degree in Fine Art. I have painted my entire life and recently expanded my art practice after receiving a grant awarded in 2001, which enabled me to frame many of my larger paintings. My medium is acrylic and oil and more recently linocut, charcoal is an integral component in many of my paintings.I love painters like Bret Whiteley and Charles Blackman, Arthur Boyd, Paul Gaugan, Ray Crooke my favourite artist is Egon Schiele. When I received my first RADF Grant my works were gouache and ink on paper however my works have evolved in the last 8 years. There is a naïve…primitive component to many of my works. The images combined with composition tend to tell stories. My art is always evolving and becoming more abstract. I love to paint meaningful paintings with grit…that’s my desired outcome when I pick up a brush.
